Safety & model limits
What the models show
The labs help parents and other adults explore physical relationships together with children. They are simplified learning models. Real materials, joints and surroundings can produce different results. Each lab describes its assumptions in the “Explanation guide for parents” section.
Results are not safety certifications or construction plans for real load-bearing structures or vehicles. Displayed loads do not guarantee actual strength.
Building away from the screen
- A responsible adult should check the materials, setup and surroundings, and supervise the experiment.
- Build only small, lightweight models. Never load or lift people or animals, or use them as targets.
- Use soft paper balls for throws. Do not build hard, sharp or highly tensioned launchers.
- Begin drop experiments close to the floor. Never throw from windows, balconies or stairs.
- Use age-appropriate tools and parts. Keep uninflated balloons, broken balloon pieces and small weights away from young children.
- Use a little water in a shallow tray for floating experiments. Keep electrical devices away and wipe up spills.
